The Kiwis are at it again.

Atleast according to this article:

Botrytis Breakthrough

Not ever having been to New Zealand, I suppose I wasn't aware of this problem there. Evidently, the fungus (also known as 'The Noble Rot') is absolutely crucial to the process by which the dessert wines of Sauternes as well as those from Hungary are produced.

Normally, I would think the presence of Botrytis would be seen as a good thing. Maybe not.

A side note. Check out the original article. Notice anything? Huge Johnson had a follow up on his thoughts about The potential of Hotties marketing wine. It ain't exactly wine that this girl is holding, but I think she is along the lines of his idea.

Maybe, thirst for total omniscience of all things wine drove me to read the article. Or maybe, it was the hottie in the vineyard.
