Things are looking up

As per my previous post, I had suspended blogging for a bit. I am happy to say that I have accounted for just about everyone that I know in the greater New Orleans area. Thankfully, when the word to get the hell out of Dodge, my people listened.

And ultimately, that's the lesson learned here. When they say get out, get out. I live in Savannah and truth be told, we are overdue for a serious storm here.

When (not if) the time comes, I will be out of here.

Glad to hear your friends/family got out safely.

That said, it isn't necessarily as easy as saying "when they say get out, get out!". I'm not trying to preach, but many people don't have cars or the financial werewithall to get out. I spent a little time in NO (on a pro bono legal matter), and many people I dealt with there didn't have transportation of their own.

Those who actually chose to stay when they could have left... well, I still feel bad for them. Nonetheless, there is little doubt at this point that they made a choice which they have come to regret.
